Indigenous communities, including the Ponchos Rojos, along with other mobilized sectors, rejected the agreement, considering it legitimizes the continuity of economic measures and the subsidy scheme by accepting only a partial modification of Decree 5503, while the other decrees remain in force. The communities reported that they were central protagonists of the blockades—which reached 87 points nationwide—with the aim of achieving the total annulment of decrees 5503, 5515, and 5509. Indigenous communities reiterated that they do not accept partial negotiations or individual decrees: either all three decrees are annulled, or they demand the fall of the government. Despite the agreement reached between the government and the Bolivian Workers' Central (COB), social conflict continues in various parts of the country. In this context, they expressed anger at the COB leadership for closing an agreement that does not reflect the collective demand and announced they will maintain forceful measures until the total repeal of Decree 5503 is promulgated, at a minimum. Additionally, they warned that if there is no progress in the comprehensive annulment of the three decrees, they will demand the immediate resignation of the government of Rodrigo Paz, whom they accuse of governing in the interests of foreign companies, deepening the vulnerability of the population, and violating the National Constitution, international agreements, and human rights. In this context of high tension, during the midnight from Sunday to Monday, brutal police repression against members of the Ponchos Rojos maintaining a blockade at the Río Seco bridge, in the El Alto area of La Paz, was denounced. Other sectors that joined the protests over the weekend remain on alert and do not rule out intensifying their measures.
